How one day of shooting becomes 48 social media posts
One day of shooting can give you 48 posts: 3 listings, 12 videos, and 36 repurposed posts. Shoot one day every six weeks, which is about 8 days a year, and you can post every single day.
I was talking to a friend who’s a real estate agent this week, and she was telling me how hard it is to keep up with social. She’s one of the top agents in the country, but her social media doesn’t reflect her expertise or the tier of her listings and clients. She said, “Coming up with something to post feels hard.” Which means she’s missing out on more and better leads, and on future-proofing her business with a constantly growing email list and social following that reflect her level in the industry.
And when her assistant tried to post for her, she didn’t like the content because it wasn’t in her own words (fair!). So here’s exactly what I told her to do.
1. Book one Friday every six weeks
Get your hair and makeup done professionally, and pick out three outfits that you feel great in.
2. Schedule the day around three of your listings
- 6:00am: hair and makeup at the first listing
- 8:30 to 10:30am: shoot at listing 1
- 10:30 to 11:30am: travel and snack
- 11:30am to 1:30pm: shoot at listing 2
- 1:30 to 2:30pm: travel and snack
- 2:30 to 4:30pm: shoot at listing 3
Done!
3. Shoot these 5 things at each listing
- B-roll of the apartment with no one in the shot
- A tour of the apartment led by you
- Three videos answering questions your clients ask you all the time that have nothing to do with the listing. Examples: We’re first-time buyers, where do we even start? How do we win when there are multiple offers? Why isn’t my apartment selling?
4. Here’s the math
- 3 listings x 1 tour each = 3 videos
- 3 listings x 3 Q&A videos = 9 videos
- Each of those 12 videos also becomes a carousel, a photo post, and a text-over-b-roll post = 36 more posts
Total: 48 posts from one day of shooting. That means you only have to shoot 8 days a year to post every single day.
And your assistant doesn’t have to come up with any of the copy, because it’s all coming from what you actually said on the tours and in the videos. You can use skills to automate all of this with Claude or ChatGPT (my members get access to mine so they don’t have to create their own).
The example here is a real estate agent, but the pattern works for anyone who has places, products, or clients to show: a walkthrough, a few videos answering the questions customers ask all the time, and three repurposed formats for every video.
- How many social media posts can I get from one day of shooting?
- 48. Three locations give you 3 tour videos and 9 Q&A videos, and each of those 12 videos becomes a carousel, a photo post, and a text-over-b-roll post for 36 more.
- How often do I need to shoot?
- One Friday every six weeks, which is about 8 shoot days a year, is enough to post every single day.
- What do I shoot at each location?
- Five things: b-roll with no one in the shot, a tour led by you, and three videos answering questions your clients ask you all the time.
- Can an assistant write the captions and copy?
- Yes. All of the copy comes from what you actually said on the tour and in the videos, so your assistant doesn’t have to come up with any of it.
